Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. After her father's departure from her family members, she was grew to maturity by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. When she was a little girl, she struggled with an obsessive compulsive disorder. She also experienced anxiety because of the word association. Ford was attracted to acting in her teenage years she joined the National Youth Theatre. Ford gained entry to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, but decided after a week that she wasn't a good for the school. Ford returned to Central School of Speech and Drama and on the fourth time she applied she was accepted. Shaun Dingwall - who later played Pete Tyler in Doctor Who was also one of Ford's classmates. Ford's debut on TV was the 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the when she finished her studies, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate made appearances on television during the Nineties with shows such as The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. Also, she was a regular performer in theatres, before eventually being a part of the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. Tate began to gain attention for her stand up comedy in 1996.
