Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress who is best known for her film roles on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She received an B.A. in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in theater, film and TV. Her career began with theater, and was later featured in numerous television series and independent and mainstream movies. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she received critical acclaim and a variety of awards and nominations, among them her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for the best Actress. She made her professional debut as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. She has performed on Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her most well-known work is her roles in the films Men of Honor, The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. She is also well-known for her part in ABC's crime drama High Incident.
